Jewish Museum - Modigliani, Beyond the Myth
2004
New York, New York
This exhibition challenged
assumptions about the artist who is referred to as an Expressionist by
highlighting his reductivist style, historicism, and idealization of form.
The design features Modigliani's minimalist sculpture in a semi-circular
space, evocative of an historical temple. The minimal palette brought a
human scale using "scarpe" corner details.
