The Pier 40 limited design competition was organized by the River Green Trust to study development strategies of a 25 acre existing pier on the west side of Manhattan. Our design is a system for the integration between pier and park. A diversity of green uses fits itself into the existing structure of the building. The aim is to integrate the "organic" with the "mechanic" uses in order to create a whole that is more than the sum of its parts.
